As Julien Cadet explains, the idea is that the two spaces he now occupies, located 10 minutes' walk away one from the other, "complement each other, without hierarchy, according to the needs of the exhibitions and the works". The new gallery, on the courtyard, borders the former home of the newspaper Libération, which in 2017 hosted the Paris International Fair. The space, a former showroom for a Japanese fashion brand, has two rooms under a glass roof, and offers an exhibition area of approximately 140 m2.
Bill Saylor
The inaugural exhibition, to be discovered from 3 September to 8 October, is devoted to the American artist Bill Saylor, a reference in animal "Bad Painting". This is his first solo exhibition in France. Present on the American scene, particularly in New York, for more than three decades, Bill Saylor has inspired a number of artists, including Jordy Kerwick (also represented by the gallery) and Eddie Martinez.
The gallery's programme will then have a clash of generations and styles with a duo show featuring Cydne Jasmin Coleby and Rico Gatson.
Julien Cadet has a strong international presence - where many of his collectors are based - and will participate in the Untitled Miami fair in December and Art Singapore in January.
