In Italy, Tabari Artspace & La Serena Hotel Launch an Immersive Gallery and Artist Residency

Article
Recently renovated, and nestled in Forte dei Marmi on the Italian coast, La Serena Hotel offers a new gallery space dedicated to showcasing the works of both renowned and emerging artists.

From May to August, the hotel will be hosting a new artists-in-residence programme, an initiative pioneered by Tabari Artspace, a commercial gallery based in Dubai and London.

The dedicated studio space, within the hotel,  will serve as a hub for artists to not only create and exhibit their work but also engage with guests by opening their studios to the public.

This summer, the hotel will welcome its first two artists-in-residence:

Malik Thomas Jalil, an artist who explores the relationship with desires through drawing. Through his exploration of male human figures, he portrays subjects with moist-eyed expressions, offering viewers a glimpse into his own fantasies.

Samo Shalaby, an Egyptian-Palestinian fine artist who delves into the aesthetics of antiquity, surrealism, and grotesque, from a contemporary perspective. His art reflects an interest in challenging the distinctions between identity, culture, and couture.
