In Mexico the Material Art Fair reveals its programme

 

For the second year in Frontón México – nearby Mexico’s historic centre – Zona Maco’s dynamic off-fair will be held from February 7 through 10. For its 6th edition, the event will host 73 exhibitors from 22 different countries. Amongst the galleries will be 29 newcomers, including Croy Nielsen (Vienna), Jérôme Poggi (Paris) and Jan Kaps (Cologne), who will be featured alongside the selection committee members Labor (Mexico City), Supportico Lopez (Berlin), Andréhn-Schiptjenko (Stockholm) and François Ghebaly Gallery (Los Angeles).

A new face at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art

 

Former curator at the FRAC Nord Pas de Calais, Irene Aristizábal, has been appointed Head of Curatorial and Public Practice at the Gateshead institution (UK). Since 2013, Aristizábal has been Head of Exhibitions at the Nottingham Contemporary. She notably organised exhibitions dedicated to Pia Camil, Simon Starling, Rana Hamadeh, Danai Anesiadou and Danh Vō.

 

“Irene is a deeply respected and knowledgeable curator with significant experience of embedding complex public programs within exhibition making practice,” BALTIC director Sarah Munro said in a statement. More information available via ArtForum.
