Article
Established since 2007 in New York, and after launching an exhibition venue in Los Angeles in 2021, the Friedman Benda Gallery is set to open a 500m2 location in the Marais district of Paris, at 38 Rue du Temple, in 2024.

The gallery combines industrial design, architecture, art, and crafts with a focus on science and technology. It represents prominent figures in the fields of design and art, including renowned names like Wendell Castle, Ettore Sottsass, and Shiro Kuramata. Additionally, the gallery represents designers such as the late Andrea Branzi, Ron Arad, Daniel Arsha, Estúdio Campana, Najla El Zein, Raphael Navot, and Thaddeus Wolfe.

“It is every artist’s dream to exhibit in Paris, a heaven and inspiration for creatives for centuries.  My personal journey in design started here almost thirty years ago,” explains Marc Benda, co-founder of the gallery. The gallery has appointed Astrid Malingreau to oversee its Paris venue. Prior to this role, Malingreau served as an art consultant and was an expert in the Design Department at Christie's in New York.

In 2023, Friedman Benda will be taking part in the first edition of the Design Miami/Paris fair.
