Emmanuel Perrotin opened his space at 50 Connaught Road Central in 2012. He will soon be leaving it to move to Victoria Dockside in the Kowloon district.

In The Art Newspaper, the gallerist stated that there was no link between his decision and the current situation in the city-state: “We wanted to move closer to this new area where K11, the Rosewood hotel, the M+ museum, and luxury apartments are found, and where wealthy Chinese [clients] are based."

While Art Basel Hong Kong —from March 19 to 21 next year —convinced international galleries not to change their plans, Hauser & Wirth (who have a space in the city) recently cancelled an exhibition dedicated to the American photographer Annie Leibovitz.
