A Fresh Eye: 5 Unmissable Artists at Paris Photo 2025

Article
A new perspective is unfolding beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais, transformed into a vast laboratory of contemporary photography.

Over 1,385 artists and 222 exhibitors from 33 countries are sharing the space, confirming the fair’s status as the world’s leading medium event. Since its creation in 1997, Paris Photo has become the leading fair in its field, and from 13 to 16 November, it is expected to draw over 80,000 visitors.

This 28th edition opens with a powerful message: the fair is entirely directed by women, led by Florence Bourgeois and Anna Planas, and supported by six female curators. A natural dynamic that also guides the Elles × Paris Photo exhibition, created in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, where women represent 39% of the featured artists (compared to 20% in 2018). This year’s edition celebrates around forty selected works, reaffirming the program’s leading role in championing female creators.

Organised in five sectors – Main, Emergence, Voices, Digital, and Book – the 2025 fair combines heritage and innovation through historical prints, digital experiments, and immersive installations. It also presents the collection of art historian Estrellita B. Brodsky, dedicated to Latin American photography, underlining the organisers’ desire for openness.
