World’s top auctioneer leaves Christie’s

 

Having joined the auction-house seven years ago, Loïc Gouzer was co-director of the Post-war and Contemporary Art departments. Amongst his many achievements, in November 2017 he held the sale of Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi for $450.3m – the world record for a work sold at auction. More recently, he made David Hockney the most expensive living artist after selling his painting Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures) for $90.3m. Departure of Contemporary Istanbul fair Director
