The new, larger location - marking the first ever move from the Werkraum Warteck pp - will allow the necessary safety measures to be put in place. The announcement is a welcome one, following the cancellation of art fair giant Art Basel, and many other fairs previously due to take place in the city, including VOLTA and Design Miami Basel.
Manifesting the desire to physically show art again after months of lockdown enforced upon galleries and fairs by the Covid-19 pandemic, the majority of galleries originally selected to attend the fair will still be participating in Liste’s 25th edition. To facilitate the participation of those galleries prevented from attending in person due to travel restrictions, Liste will be introducing a model in which galleries physically present at the fair can show works by their own artists as well as host those of another gallery.
Alongside the fair, Liste Showtime will be launched as a new initiative providing an online platform for the galleries to present one of their artists in detail, and to offer works for sale, allowing art lovers from beyond Europe who are unlikely to be able to attend to engage with the fair. The platform will also host a collaborative project in which posters addressing the theme “Rewriting Our Imaginations” will be created by artists selected by the galleries, and will then be sold on Liste Showtime’s web shop.
