Another Record Sale for Fair Warning Auction App

Former Christie’s co-chairman Loïc Gouzer’s members-only virtual auction app Fair Warning has set another new record since its launch in late June.

Yoruba artist Romuald Hazoumè’s sculpture Chouchou (2013), typical of the artist’s work transforming garbage into ceremonial African masks, scooped $69,000 at auction on the platform, setting a new world record for the artist.

Sharing the work on his Instagram, Gouzer posted:“ there are also phenomenal artists that don’t sell for millions. Romuald is one of my favorite African artists and for me the Calder of the African continent.”
