The Rodin Museum has signed a sponsorship agreement with Mrs Zhang Chengcheng, who spent part of her childhood in Metz before making her fortune in real estate.
The details of the Shenzhen Rodin Museum will be revealed during Emmanuel Macron's next visit to China, but an initial overview of the partnership was given in Nice at the fourth Franco-Chinese Cultural Forum.
Catherine Chevillo, Director of the national Rodin Museum (which is entirely self-funding), announced that art works by three artists from three different continents will soon be installed in the Parisian institution's wood panelling. The featured artists will be Jean-Paul Marcheschi (France), Barthélémy Toguo (Cameroon), and Li Xin (China). Eighteen medallions will be installed in the spaces where the previous decoration was removed and sold during the nineteenth century.
