Fifty-eight Banksy works confiscated in Belgium

 

The collection, estimated to be worth €15m, was seized by bailiffs in Ixelles as the litigious works “seemed to be exhibited without the agreement of their real rights-holders…”


A lawsuit was filed before the tribunal by the company in charge of Strokar Inside, an urban culture hub. They explained that “On Entertainment”, who had contacted them to propose the “Banksy Unauthorized” exhibition, had unduly claimed to hold the rights to exhibit the works and also that they had been sent by Steve Lazarides, Banksy’s former manager and owner of the majority of the exhibited works.
