A new Fondation Cartier at the Louvre des Antiquaires

The Fondation Cartier directors’ wish to find a new space in which to present more artworks has been public knowledge for several years, but the extent of the project was revealed today – and it’s impressive.

Adding to their 1,200m2 in Paris’ 14th arrondissement, the institution will be moving into their new 14,000m2 space at the Louvre des Antiquaires in 2023. Jean Nouvel, who was behind the foundation’s original building (built in 1994), will be in charge of the €60m operation. The Louvre des Antiquaires is now partially empty, and only a small selection of the 250 antique collectors are still there. Read further (in French) via Le Parisien.

David Zwirner to represent Diane Arbus’ estate

In collaboration with the Fraenkel Gallery, who have managed the estate of the legendary photographer for many years, mega-gallery David Zwirner (New York, London, Hong Kong) will now be showing Diane Arbus’ work.

This new collaboration will be launched with an exhibition of the Untitled series, consisting of 65 images shot between 1969 and 1971. The David Zwirner gallery will present several images never before shown to the public during an exhibition on November 2 in New York. The New York Times has the detail.
