Niamh O'Malley, the Irish sculptor will be representing her home country at the Venice Biennale that is set to take place in 2022.

It is the Irish Minister for media, tourism, art, culture and sport, Catherine Martin, that announced that O'Malley and Temple Bar Gallery + Studio as curators will be carrying the Irish flag to Italy.

After her exhibitions at Mother's Tankstation in London last year and the Royal Hibernian Academy the year before, O'Malley, known for her exquisite compositions, video making and minimalist sculptures, will be exposing her work at what is sometimes referred to as the "Olympics of art".

After the cancellation of the last two editions, the longest interruption since the Second World War, the Biennale is set to come back in spring of 2022 with artists from all around the world eager to present their work at this prestigious event.
