Common ground in New York for RX gallery and SLAG

Article
Parisian gallery RX will be making its American debut with an exhibit centered around corean photographer Bae Bien-U. Opening on the 18th of February this will be a first step in their growth overseas.

They will be sharing a 300 m2 space with Slag Gallery in the Chelsea district of New York. It will host nine exhibitions per year, each gallery having four of their own and one jointly organised. In addition, beside the public gallery, both of them will have a private space to display their own art, giving them permanent exposure.

The galleries' differing styles allow works like those of SLAGS' figurative artists such as Tirtzah Bassel or Tina Schwartz to mix with art from El Anatsui, Raymond Depardon or Mrdjan Bajić. This setup will also allow the Viennese painter Hermann Nitsch to be represented in New York.

With this foot on American soil, Galerie RX will also be able to create ties with further artists.
