A study led by statisticians, mathematicians and art history experts has revealed how much work is left to be done in striving for equality in artist visibility. The specialists – mostly from Williams College, Massachusetts – analysed the collections of 18 American museums, basing their study on a sample of 45,000 works by nearly 10,000 artists.
