Skarstedt opens a new gallery on Upper East Side

In addition to London, the gallery already has a space in New York. Next March, a new space – a whopping 25,000 square-feet – will open at 19 East 64th Street.

The building has been associated with the art world for a long time, having been owned by the famous Wildenstein traders. In 2013, it was almost bought by the Qatari government, but the sale fell through. A Chinese investment fund then acquired it, before it changed hands once again. The space’s inaugural exhibition will feature works by George Condo, KAWS and Christopher Wool. Read further via Artnews.

The Draw Art Fair London is born

From May 17 through 19, the first edition of the Draw Art Fair will bring together 60 exhibitors at the Saatchi Gallery.

Held in parallel with Photo London, the fair will be directed by Laurent Boudier, founder of the Parisian fair, Drawing Now. The fair’s strategic director, Jill Silverman van Coenegrachts, commented: “This fair is intended to be more like a curated event where the act of drawing plays a central role in revealing the practice of the artists”.
