Artist Piotr Pavlensky sentenced to one year of imprisonment, but...

After sewing his mouth shut in support of Pussy Riot and nailing his testicles to the Red Square in Moscow, Piotr Pavlenski set fire to the front of a French bank one year ago to condemn bankers’ power.

Claiming political asylum in France, he has been condemned to three years in prison by French authorities, two of which are a suspended sentence. Pavlenski should soon be freed, however, as he has already spent almost a year in detention pending trial. More information available via Artnet.
