James Turrell and Marina Abramović venture into the spa business

A stone's throw from his Museum of New and Old Art in Hobart, Tasmania, the collector-cum-magnate of blackjack and horse racing, David Walsh, has expressed plans to establish a vast luxury hotel complex.

"Motown" will include a library and a 1,075-seat theatre, but also a spa. Whilst this type of facility is standard for such a space, its creators may surprise: James Turrell and Marina Abramović...

The project, costing $300m in total - not just for the spa -, will open its doors in 2024. More information available via The Art Newspaper.
