London-based contemporary art gallery Space In Between has announced it has moved to 10A Mackintosh Lane, in Homerton, London, from their previous location at Regent Studios in Dalston.

HAPPENINGFounded in 2009 by Laura McFarlane and Hannah Hooks, the gallery is dedicated  to supporting artists and practice, whilst striving to maintain its aesthetic and theoretical identity. In its seven years, Space In Between has worked with artists from across the UK and overseas including The ARKA group, Jennifer Bailey, Sandy Smith, James Irwin and Lucas Simões.

A representative for the gallery has clarified that the move was prompted by the end of their lease at Regent Studios, which also encouraged the team at Space In Between to opt for a bigger, smarter and more “street-level” space. Whilst the gallery remained closed over summer during relocation, it was present at NADA New York in May 2016, and kept on working on other projects, including an online exhibition by James Irwin and an Instagram takeover by artist Jennifer Bailey, to coincide with her solo exhibition Will I Make a Good Father, Mother, Sister? at Collective, Edinburgh.

The gallery will reopen at its new space on September 16 with an inaugural show by Sandy Smith “LOVERALLOVERALLOVERAL” — running through October 15.
