Paris Internationale to double in size for 2016 edition

Article
The newcomer art fair, Paris Internationale, which defined itself as “not a rejects salon, nor a reaction to FIAC” for its first edition in 2015, is becoming a coveted one.

After a more than satisfactory first edition, attracting praise from the international press, the 2016 iteration of Paris Internationale marks a new step.

Whilst concurrent art fair Slick has been cancelled, Paris Internationale is set to run from October 18-23. This year, the fair will move to a stunning 19th century mansion at 51 Avenue d’Iéna, and will welcome nearly twice as many galleries. Across the 3000 square-meter space, 60 participants, including 53 galleries and seven project spaces from 19 countries, will be presented.

The five galleries at the head of the project — Crèvecoeur, High Art, Antoine Levi, Sultana and Gregor Staiger — wish to highlight the “the diverse identities of the participants,” aiming to develop “an appropriate model for fostering new and advanced initiatives in contemporary art.”

Among the participating galleries are Jacqueline Martins, Sao Paulo; Bortolami, New York; SpazioA, Pistoia; Carlos/Ishikawa, London; Mitchell Algus, New York; Joseph Tang, Paris; Shane Campbell, Chicago and LambdaLambdaLambda, Pristina. Find the complete list here.
