Works by the other three shortlisted artists — Basma Alsharif, Neil Beloufa and Ali Cherri — will also be on view as part of the exhibition, organized during Art Dubai and curated by Myriam Ben Salah. “Although their practices are very different, they share a certain number of interests and interrogations which I look forward to exploring while working with them on the exhibition”, explained the curator.
Represented by Mor Charpentier and Maureen Paley, the artist has said “The Prize allows me to produce and conceive a work using materials and technologies previously unavailable to me, and in doing so enables me to deepen my exploration of the most contemporary ways of seeing and hearing our world”.
The work of Lawrence Abu Hamdan is currently on show at Stockholm’s Moderna Museet as part of the exhibition “Manipulate The World”.
