Article
Art Cologne has announced the finalists for the 2017 edition of the New Positions Award, to be presented during the fair’s upcoming edition, running from April 26 through 29.

The award, founded in 1980, aims to support younger, under-the-radar artists by presenting their works in a privileged space located next to their representing galleries in the fair.

The shortlist reflects the wide range of media covered by the award. From painting to photography, object art and installation to video and performance, the 2017 edition of the New Positions Award covers virtually all major contemporary art practices.

The prize includes a solo exhibition, Cologne Artothek, which will be accompanied by a catalogue.
