Splendor of the Han at the Guimet Museum

The Musée Guimet in Paris continues to exhibit its extraordinary collection of Han dynasty (206 BC – AD 220) treasures until March 1st, 2015.

The exhibition is entitled “Splendor of the Han, Rise of the Celestial Empire”.

 HAPPENING


Twenty seven museums across China have generously lent artworks for the duration of the exhibition. Masterpieces created in jade, terracotta, bronze, ceramic and lacquer-ware reveal the extraordinary funerary practices and beliefs harbored by populations of the Han dynasty across the fringes of the Steppe and the Silk Road.
