Met Museum protestors no longer facing charges

Three members of the Illuminator crew, who had been arrested following a protest in front of Met Museum in las September, are no longer facing charges.

The trio were protesting alongside several other activists following the $65 million dollar donation to the museum by controversial figure David H. Koch, whose name is now marked upon the fountain in front of the Met Museum in its newly renovated plaza (funded by Koch’s donation).

Kyle Depew, Grayson Earle and Yates Mckee were accused of “illegal advertising” and the projector they frequently use to project hard hitting messages onto offending institutions was confiscated by the police.
Occupy Museums who organized the protest, handed out flyers explaining their opposition to Koch’s association with the Met: “Koch Industries is the largest funder of climate science denying organizations in the world… They have spent more than $67 million since 1997 to buy advertising, corporate media, talk show hosts and lobbyists while legally bribing politicians to deny the catastrophic effects of climate change.”
