Lauren Bacall is remembered as one of the most iconic actresses of Hollywood’s Golden Age, yet her passion for art is perhaps less recognized than her cinematic career.

The American-born actress, who passed away in August 2014, assembled a vast collection of art over many years which will be sold at auction by Bonhams. A selection will be exhibited in Hong Kong, Paris, London and Los Angeles prior to the auction which is to take place on 31 March and 1 April.

The private collection includes bronzes by the British-born sculptor Henry Moore and the American Robert Graham, whose work was much admired by Lauren Bacall. Jewellery created by the designer Jean Schlumberger, Tribal works of art, paintings and photographic prints by Richard Avedon also form part of Bacall’s collection.

These works of art will be first exhibited at Bonhams Hong Kong from January 14 to 19, followed by Paris at the Grand Palais from January 29 to February 3, to London from February 16 to 19 and finally touring in Los Angeles from February 27 to March 6 this year.
