The legacy includes works by Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Jean Dubuffet, Anselm Kiefer, Joan Miró, and Ellsworth Kelly. The collection is reportedly worth over £10.6 million.
Ascher, who passed away in April 2014, had been a patron of the museum since 1977. The former art critic, curator, and collector’s collection will be on display in the Asger Jorn Gallery in the museum's North wing until March 22.
