Italian flare in Paris at the Photographic Center Ile-de-France

Article
The work of two Italian artists is to be be presented at the Photographic Center, Île de France until the end of March. Alessandra Spranzi (born 1962) and Paola de Pietri (born 1960) will take part in two monographic exhibitions of their work based on the domestic and wild elements of the land and its appropriation by man.

Sortilegio by Alessandra Spranzi explores the use of images taken from magazines and the press, and re-presenting their message. This allows the artist to deconstruct their initial meaning.

Paola de Pietri, in Night Stories, questions the evolution of the urban landscape, notably in Istanbul (Istanbul News Stories, unseen in France). In the series To Face, vestiges of war become territorial transformations.  The architectural transformations question relations between man and his habitat.
