Painter Jake Berthot passes away

The American artist Jake Berthot passes away at the age of 75.

Having studied at the New School and the Pratt Institute, Jake Berhot was influenced by Milton Resnick, he received numerous prizes including the Guggenheim Fellowship in 1981, a National Endowment for the Arts Grant in 1983 and an Academy Institute Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1992.

Represented in New York by the Betty Cuningham Gallery, Berthot held exhibitions at the Rose Art Museum of Brandeis, Darthmouth College as well as at the Phillips Collection in Washington.
