Over 3,700 applications for grants were received and the final selection features artists aged 28 to 80 years old with more than half of the successful candidates being women artists.
Lisa Dent, Director of Resources and Award Programmer at Creative Capital, explains the selection process: "Evaluators are asked to look for risk at every stage by selecting ‘wild cards'—projects that may not have received one of their highest scores but stuck with them as exciting or timely."

Creative Capital based in New York has announced that they are to award $4,370,000 in grants in order for 46 artist projects to be completed.
