Born in 1972, Hema Hirani Upadhyay held her most recent solo exhibition at the Nature Morte gallery in New Delhi earlier this year. Since 2010 Hirani Upadhyay had been engaged in an enduring divorce procedure with her ex husband, the artist Chintan Upadhyay. The couple had been officially divorced since 2014.
