Danh Vo leaves Isabella Bortolozzi Gallery following legal case with Bert Kreuk

Artist Danh Vo and gallerist Isabella Bortolozzi have discontinued their working relationship amid a court case filed against the pair by collector Bert Kreuk in 2013.

Gallerist Isabella Bortolozzi told The Art Newspaper “I decided to stop representing Danh Vo in September 2014,” Bortolozzi declined to provide further information. The case was settled by a Rotterdam court in June and Danh Vo was ordered to produce a new work for Kreuk by June 24 2016. At the time Bortolozzi released a statement claiming “Bert Kreuk believes he has won something, but on the contrary he has lost everything” going on to say that “Unfortunately the art world is now host to many individuals whose motivations are alien to our interests.”

Vo’s name no longer appears alongside those of Ed Atkins, Oscar Murillo, Carol Rama and Wu Tsang on the Berlin-based gallery’s website.
