Turkish auction house Beyaz Art unveil lots of upcoming landmark sale

Article
On June 6, Istanbul-based auction house Beyaz Auctions will sell the greatest names in Turkish Modern and contemporary art.

The top lot is without a doubt Rainbow by Turkish-Jordanian artist Fahrelnissa Zeid (1901-1991). The oil on canvas measuring 195cm x 97cm is characteristic of the artist’s Parisian period. Painted at the end of the 1950s, the painting was exhibited at La Hune Gallery in Paris in 1984. The artwork is estimated to realize between €100,000 and 150,000. In 2013, Christie’s broke the world record for the artist in Dubai when her seminal work Break of the Atom and Vegetal Life (1962) sold for $2,741,000. A second work by the artist, Byzantine Red, (circa 1960) is estimated to bring in €83,000 to 117,000.
