Film London has revealed the list of shortlisted artists for the 2016 edition of the Jarman Award, the £10,000 moving image award for contemporary UK-based artists.

Sophia Al Maria, Cécile B. Evans, Shona Illingworth, Mikhail Karikis, Rachel Maclean, and Heather Phillipson have made the first shortlist. The winner will be announced on November 28. Read more on artnet news.

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, MoMA PS1 has announced that it will extend free admission to all New York residents until October 2017. The institution, which has also appointed seven new board members — Maria Arena Bell, Adrian Cheng, George Farias, Svetlana Kuzmicheva-Uspenskaya, Lisa Roumell, Robert Soros, and John L. Thomson — has announced the launch of a number of new exhibitions and projects in celebration of its 40th birthday. artnet news has more information.

Following MoMA’s announcement, earlier this year, that the museum has been forced to offer voluntary buyouts to senior staff, three of the institution’s high-level employees have announced their resignation. Chief digital officer Sree Sreenivasan, senior vice-president for marketing and relations Cynthia Round and head of design Susan Sellers have all stepped down, The New York Times reports.

South Korean artist Yunchul Kim is this year’s winner of the COLLIDE International Award, the prize awarded by CERN and an international partner — this year, Liverpool-based Foundation for Art and Creative Technology. The residency will see Yunchul Kim spend two months at the world’s leading particle physics laboratory, followed by a month’s residency at FACT in Liverpool. More information on CERN’s website.
