Hangar Barcelona and the Curators’ Network have announced the launch of two curatorial research residencies — carried out from November 14, 2016 until December 18, 2016 and from January 18, 2017 until February 19, 2017 — in the Spanish city.

Candidates must not reside in Catalonia and can apply until July 15, 23:59 CEST. More information, as well as application details, are available here.

A Korean gallerist — known by his surname Hyeon — accused of forging several Lee Ufan works with the help of an antiques dealer has been defended by … the artist himself. Following two examinations conducted by the artist on the pieces, Ufan declared that the 13 artworks confiscated by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency are authentic. Korea Joongang Daily has more information.

Moscow’s Garage Museum has announced the launch of an extensive programming aimed at easing the museum experience for disabled visitors. The first project within the program, an exhibition titled  “Co-Thinkers”, brings together eighteen contemporary artworks by artists including Maurizio Cattelan, Robert Rauschenberg, and James Turrell, also available in 3D models for visitors to touch. The V-A-C Foundation — founded by billionaire Leonid Mikhelson to promote contemporary Russian art — has announced plans to expand its exhibition spaces, both in Moscow and internationally. Months away from the official opening of its Venice space next year, the foundation has revealed that it will open a brand new site for contemporary art in the Red October district of the Russian capital. Artnet news has more information.

2015-2016 was a great year for the British Museum. The institution has in fact announced that over the past twelve months it has welcomed 6.9 million visitors, the figure making the 2015-2016 year the most successful in the British Museum’s history. Gallery Sabrina Amrani has announced that it will now represent Saudi Arabian artist Manal AlDowayan in Europe and the Americas. AlDowayan’s work, embracing a number of different mediums, including photography, sculpture, video, music and installation, explores the questions of identity, politics and mass media in the Middle East.
