Photographer Terry Richardson — who has taken the portraits of, among others, president Barack Obama, James Franco, Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne and Amber Heard — is to publish a new book.

Entitled “Skinny”, after his assistant and girlfriend Alex “Skinny” Bolotow, the upcoming book will feature a series of personal and intimate images contrasting the more candid shots Richardson is known for.


The publication will be on sale in a limited edition of 1,000 copies. artnet News has more information.

Bad news for the Seattle Art Museum. Apparently, the city’s residents are not happy with the institution’s planned $45 million expansion; a group of Seattleites have in fact launched a petition protesting the museum’s plans to expand its Asian Art Museum. The residents have cited the institution’s lack of transparency regarding the project, which also involves encroaching on one of the city’s park spaces. Read more on Art Forum.

The Judd Foundation has teamed up with British sculptor Richard Long to occupy artist Donald Judd’s former home and studio at 101 Spring Street, New York, with two monumental terracotta works, which will be applied directly onto the building’s walls. The installation of mud-based work will be on display from October 1 through December 17. The Art Newspaper has more.

Katy Siegel, formerly curator at large at the Rose Art Museum, (Waltham, Massachusetts) has been appointed senior programming and research curator at Baltimore Museum of Art. Siegel, who is also chair of Modern American Art at Stony Brook University, will take up her new post as of September 1. More on Art Forum.
