The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia has announced details of the curator Philipp Kaiser’s forthcoming exhibiton for the Swiss Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale.

The exhibition, entitled “Women in Venice,” will pay homage to Alberto Giacometti, exploring the legacy of the Swiss sculptor with a particular focus on his importance for contemporary art practices and on the theme of national identity. The list of artists who will produce work for the exhibition will be announced at the end of this year. More on prohelvetia.

MCH, the company that owns Art Basel, has announced today that it is taking a co-ownership stake in India Art Fair, alongside the event company Angus Montgomery. This is the first of MCH’s new partnerships with regional fairs, an initiative that the company announced it would be setting up last March. MCH Group will own a majority of India Art Fair, with a total of 60.3%, while Angus Montgomery will own 29.7%. More via artnet News.

For its second edition, X Contemporary Art Fair, which last year took place in Miami’s Wynwood district, is moving to a new location at Miami beach’s soon-to-open Nobu Hotel. In addition to the new location, X Contemporary is under new leadership after its co-founder Matthew Eck, who spearheaded the fair’s 2015 debut, left to launch a new project. Crystal Curtis, X Contemporary’s Executive Director, took over full ownership of the fair in 2016, and Michael Klein is the fair’s Consulting Director this year. X Contemporary 2016 will present two exhibitions: “Basquiat in LA,” which will feature a number of never-before-seen paintings by the American artist, and “The Women Who Made Modern Art Modern,” which charts the stories of influential women art dealers of the 20th century. The Museum Voorlinden, a new private museum of modern and contemporary art located in Wassenaar, Netherlands, opened its doors on September 11 2016. The elegant building, designed by Kraaijvanger Architects, will house the collection amassed by Joop van Caldenborgh over the last 50 years. The Museum’s Artistic Director, Suzanne Swarts, is curating the Full Moon project, which showcases different works from the collection. Full Moon will include works by Ai Wei Wei, Marcel Broodthaers, Andy Warhol and Damien Hirst. Read more on artdaily.
