October 11 | Sandy Brown now represents performance duo New Noveta

Article
Berlin’s boundary-pushing gallery Sandy Brown now represents New Noveta, the collaborative performance project of artists Keira Fox and Ellen Freed that has been taking the art world by storm.

The duo staged their first solo gallery show at Sandy Brown last Spring, including performances in which they tossed large bamboo sticks around to an intensive soundtrack, whilst yelling high-pitched commands at one another. The gallery will be exhibiting in the French capital next week as part of Paris Internationale. See New Noveta’s work via Sandy Brown.

A redoubling of the KW Institute for Contemporary Art’s budget has allowed the Berlin-based institution to pursue an ambitious new program of events and exhibitions for 2017, as well as an impressive renovation project. The construction work that KW is carrying out will create space for a bookstore and cafeteria and will be completed in January 2017, at which time the institution will open to the public. Krist Gruijthuijsen, KW’s new director, has lined up a packed, “artist-driven” exhibition schedule which will include a tribute to the work of Ian Wilson, and solo exhibitions by artists such as graphic designer Paul Elliman, spoken-poetry artist Hanne Lippard and conceptual artist Adam Pendelton. In addition to the main exhibition program, the KW will draw upon its rich history by reintroducing the 1990s Pogo Bar that used to be housed in its basement. There will also be an annual artists’ ball, held at different venues across the city. More on artnet News.
