Saâdane Afif joins mor charpentier

French artist Saâdane Afif — born in 1970 — has joined the Parisian gallery. Following its move to the city’s Marais neighborhood last year, the gallery, which also has space in Bogotá, is enjoying a fast growth, and has now snatched representation of one of the most successful French artists.

Winner of the 2009 Prix Marcel Duchamp and the 2015 Prix Meurice, Afif works with performance, sculpture, text and neon. Last spring, he presented a work consisting of hundreds of page replicating Duchamp’s "Fountain" at the Centre Pompidou. Also represented by gallery Xavier Hufkens (Brussels), the artist has previously shown at the MMK Frankfurt, at Rotterdam’s Witte de With, at the Palais de Tokyo and at adocumenta 12.
