After Hurricane Maria left it devastated, the island of Puerto Rico is facing an uncertain future — in the meantime, New York gallery Gavin Brown has announced it will host a fundraising to help those affected. Gavin Brown’s Enterprise and Rirkrit Tiravanija to raise funds for Puerto Rico

Devastated by two hurricanes, the island of Puerto Rico — home to 3.4 million people — is still left entirely without power.

Whilst its governor Ricardo Rossello has declared that the island was bound to face a “humanitarian crisis” without the immediate intervention of the US, very little help is in sight. In the meantime, New York-based gallery Gavin Brown’s Enterprise has organized an evening of music and performance to help raise funds for those affected by the hurricane, taking place this Thursday at the gallery and including performances from the musicians Buscabulla and D’Marquesina and food by the artist Rirkrit Tiravanija. Visitors must donate a minimum of $100 to a YouCaring crowdfunding site to take part.
