The Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation will launch a Madrid outpost in 2019

Art patron and collector Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, — whose Turin-based, 1,000-work strong foundation is running since 1995 — has announced the launch of a new space in Madrid.

The new foundation will take over a  6.300 square meter space in the Nave 9 of Madrid’s Centre for Contemporary Creation Matadero. The Spanish city will lease the building for 50 years in exchange for the long-term loan of 100 works from Sandretto Re Rebaudengo's collection. Construction works will be overseen by architect David Adjaye.

Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo has said to have “chosen Madrid because I consider Spain to be my second homeland. I chose Madrid because it is a big global capital and a bridge to Latin-American culture, a growing scene which I have been watching closely for a long time.” Read more on The Art Newspaper.
