A new museum to open in London
The private Stockholm-based museum Fotografiska has announced the opening of a satellite space in London.
Fotografiska — The London Museum of Photography is to open its doors a year from now in the Whitechapel Building. The museum will occupy the ground floor of the building as well as a pavilion that is currently under construction, of which the two comprise in total 89,000 square feet. A new online sales platform to launch
On September 1 the platform Infinite Multiple will be launched. The concept is to create a website selling limited edition multiples by established and emerging contemporary artists at affordable prices.
The initial selection will be comprised of 30 works by 20 artists including Santiago Sierra, Lizzie Hughes, Thompson & Craighead, Marcia Farquhar and David Cotterell. An exhibition will also be organised alongside at the London-based gallery Carroll/ Fletcher. Digital prints, sculptures and wooden engravings will be available. Martha Rosler takes home another prize
The American artist, who was recently awarded the first ever prize by the New Foundation Seattle, has also received the Hamburg Lichtwark Prize 2017, worth $12,000.
The prize was created in 1951 by the art historian, curator and professor Alfred Lichtwark. The prize selects one artist every five years, the artist must be a painter, draughtsman or a sculptor whose work has had an significant impact on the visual art world. More via Artforum.

1:54 announces participating artists
The fifth London edition of the fair 1:54, taking place from October 5 through 8 at Somerset House, has announced the list of exhibiting artists. The list includes Joël Andrianomearisoa (Primo Marella Gallery), Nidhal Chamekh (Selma Feriani Gallery), Emo de Medeiros (50 Golborne), Mounir Fatmi (Lawrie Shabibi), Romuald Hazoumè (October Gallery & MAGNIN–A), and JP Mika (MAGNIN–A).
