Oslo’s new city council has announced that it will indeed go through with construction of the new Edvard Munch museum, which is set to open in 2020. The NOK 2.7 billion ($314 million) project has been met with much opposition.

Lisbon has also announced the opening date of its new museum. The MAAT, a new Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology will open its doors in October 2016. The museum, designed by AL_A, will explore the contemporary intersections of art, architecture and technology through exhibitions and programs. More on Artdaily.


The world’s first artist’s residency in a container has selected seven artists who will receive a fully-funded trip of up to six weeks on the route of their choice. The residency also includes studio space, accommodations, an honorarium and production funding. Work produced during the residencies will be exhibited internationally between spring 2016 and summer 2017. More on Artnet news.
