French Gallerist Emmanuel Perrotin has announced that he is to open a new office—showroom in Seoul on April 28. This comes on the heels of reports that Perrotin is to also soon open a new space in Les Moulins outside of Paris where Galleria Continua currently runs two spaces.

Just in case you were concerned about a lack of art fairs, the MCH Group, organizers of Art Basel fairs, have announced that they are to expand by way of acquisitions of regional fairs and new fair launches. This will not however affect the existing Art Basel fairs. Discussions are underway to scout potential offshoots. Here is the full statement from MCH.


The gallerist Olivier Malingue, based in London for just one year, is to open a new vast exhibition space in the British capital. The opening is likely to take place during Frieze week in October. Opposite Sotheby’s at 143 New Bond Street, the son of Parisian gallerist Daniel Malingue is to take over the former 170m2 space of Ayyam Gallery. Specialist in Modern, Impressionist and Surrealist art, Malingue also told H A P P E N I N G that he hopes to collaborate with his brother Edouard, also gallerist based in Hong Kong.


The litigation between Christie’s and collector Jose Mugrabi (details here) over the non payment of a Basquiat work has been straightened out. The two parties released a statement declaring that they have found an agreement. Read the statements on Art Market Monitor.
