British artist Idris Khan has been selected to realize a sculpture for the new Memorial Park in Abu Dhabi. The artwork will be revealed on November 30 ahead of the sculpture park’s opening in December. Parallel to this commission, the artist is also to produce a piece for the American Embassy in Islamabad

The annual report detailing visitor statistics for museums across the world, realized by The Art Newspaper has been published. Notably, private foundations have seen particular success this year: The Foundation Vuitton in Paris welcomed 1 million visitors, The Garage Museum Moscow 538,000 and 1.6 million at the Museo Soumaya in Mexico. Unsurprisingly the Louvre was at the top of the scale, despite a slight drop in frequentation, whilst elsewhere in the top 10 most visited museums the State Hermitage Museum gained 4 places and is now the 9th most frequented museum in the world. The 6th Drawing Now Prize, announced on March 30 at the Paris-based fair of the same name, has been awarded to French artist Jochen Gerner, represented by the Galerie Anne Barrault. The artist is to receive €5,000 and will have an exhibition during the next edition of the fair. More info on the gallery website.
