The soon-to-be renovated Courtauld Institute of Art at the University of London is to receive a $13 million bequest by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The institution, dedicated to the study of art history, and home to numerous internationally renowned curators, has plans to extend its Courtauld Gallery in order to house its ever-growing art collection. Read more on Art Forum.

The scandal surrounding a Picasso bust involving Leon Black and Qatar has finally been resolved. It recently came to light that the sculpture Buste de Femme (1931) had been sold by Maya Widmaier-Picasso to Gagosian on behalf of collector Leon Black, however the sculpture also seemed to have been bought by Guy Bennett on behalf of the Qatari royal family. The two buyers were therefore in dispute over the ownership, but the case has since been resolved, however no details have been revealed as to who will keep the contested work. The Miami Institute of Contemporary art is to welcome three new board members: Cynthia Fiske, Manny Kadre and Elle Macpherson. The institution is gearing up for the inauguration of a new building in 2017. More information via Artforum.
