Moran Bondaroff gallery is to open in an abandoned Detroit gallery measuring 50,000-square-foot this Thursday. Gallerists Paul Johnson and Al Moran, who both formerly ran galleries in New York and Los Angeles, bought the space for $6,700 and have since invested $250,000 in renovations.

The inaugural exhibition is entitled “War Games”. More information via the Detroit Free Press.

 

Art Dubai has announced the addition of three new members to its selection and advisory committees. Co-director of Victoria Miro, London Glenn Scott Wright and Isabelle van den Eynde, Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde, Dubai are to join the selection committee, whilst Iftikhar Dadi from Cornell University is to join the fair’s advisory committee. Co-founder of the Kochi Muziris Biennale, Indian artist Bose Krishnamachari, is to curate the inaugural edition of the Yinchuan Biennale in northwest China between September 9 and December 18 this year. Eighty international artists are to participate in the event with 40 names already confirmed including Anish Kapoor and Sudarshan Shetty. More via The Hindu.
 

The list of participating galleries at Paris’ FIAC has been announced. For the 43rd edition of the fair, over 175 galleries from 26 countries will be hosted at the Grand Palais from October 20 through 23. The full list of exhibitors can be found on the FIAC website.
 

During a hearing in a New York court yesterday, it was deemed that Sotheby’s will have to release details of deal transactions between Yves Bouvier and his former client Dmitry Rybolovlev. According to the New York Post, the auction house could face backlash from some dealers if they permit access, considering it a breach of confidentiality.
 

A Spanish court has denied an extradition request for José Carlos Bergantiños Díaz, one of two Spanish brothers charged in the United States with art fraud linked to the Knoedler & Company trial.
