After 11 years and a dozen solo shows, artist Richard Prince has left Gagosian Gallery.

The split might have been caused by increasing tensions between the gallery and the artist over issues of representation, artnet News reports.

The Detroit Museum of contemporary art has received a $100,000 matching grant from the Mike Kelley Foundation. The sum, to be distributed over a two-year period, will fund the museum’s initiatives and projects to be featured in Mobile Homestead, a full-scale replica of artist Mike Kelley’s house, turned into travelling exhibition space. David Zwirner has revealed the location of its Hong Kong outpost. The new 9,000 square-foot exhibition space, to open in Autumn 2017, will occupy two floors of H Queen’s, a commercial tower under construction at 80 Queen’s Road Central. The South China Morning Post has more information.

After 16 years at Sotheby’s, auction specialist Alex Rotter will join rival company Christie’s. Rotter will become chairman of postwar and contemporary art and will assume his post in March 2017, Robin Pogrebin reports for The New York Times.

A Korean gallerist, accused of having forged several Lee Ufan works and selling three of the fakes for a combined $1.1 million, has been indicted. The accused, known by his surname Hyeon, allegedly operated with an antiques art dealer. Read more on Art Forum.

Amsterdam art institution De Appel, currently at risk of seeing its government funding cut and its programmation shrink, has launched a petition asking the public to voice their support.
